A 2007 vintage Dailuaine single malt here, aged in a sherry butt and bottled up by Wemyss Malts who called this one Zephyr & Bloom. That’s because the bottler thinks this one is “brimming with orchard fruits.
Nose: Bold fruits, green orchards, pear and apple juice, strawberries & cream.
Palate: Fruits continue, baked buttery pears, gentle cereal character builds into vanilla and icing sugar.
Finish: Short to medium, white pepper, vanilla, red apples, and pencil shavings.
Dailuaine distillery (or Dailuainne) was built in 1852 by William Mackenzie. together with James Fleming. distillery to be fitted with a ‘pagoda’ or ‘cupola’ type ventilator designed by Charles Doig. In 1890 or 1891 the existing partnership was converted into another company.
