Producer Information
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi was established in 1979 by Robert Mondavi. Located 30 miles (50km) south of Sacramento, within the Lodi AVA (American Viticultural Area) Woodbridge produce a large variety of wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Zinfandel amoungst others. Growing up in Lodi, a region known more for bulk wines, Mondavi was inspired to produce accessible and affordable fruit-focused wine. He purchased a local cooperative of grape growers, and named the winery after the nearby town of Woodbridge. The winery is located on a property that includes 350,000 square feet of bottling and warehousing, surrounded by 80 hectares (200 acres) of vineyards. There are two broad ranges in the Woodbridge portfolio. The Classics focuses on wines made from the well-known grape varieties from the Lodi AVA whilst the Spirits Barrel encompasses wines that are aged in barrels previously used for aging Rum or Bourbon. Between the two categories, Woodbridge produces more than 30 different wines. Along with Robert Mondavi, Woodbridge Winery is now part of the Constellation Brands portfolio.
