Detailed Description
No imitations here, this tasty expression from Whitby Gin is flavoured with real rhubarbs, grown in Yorkshire, and picked by candlelight, no less! Since the 1800s, traditional growers in Yorkshire have used the technique of depriving rhubarb plants of sunlight, resulting in extra sweetness and colour – this is what’s called ‘forced rhubarb’. It certainly works well alongside the selection of traditional botanicals, which have also been collected from the local Yorkshire coastline (but allowed to grow with a normal amount of sunlight, as far as we know).

Distillery Information
We’ve been on a few camping trips in our time, but we’ve never come away from one with a plan for a distillery and a small still. That’s what happened to the founders of Whitby Distillery on a trip to the Outer Hebrides after being inspired by the gin they tried there. Having never distilled anything before, they started from scratch creating spirit in a 40 sq ft utility room in the parents’ house of one of the founders, with a focus on local botanicals such as heather foraged from the North York Moors, as well as sugar kelp and honey from the North Yorkshire coastline.
