Producer Information
Vranken is a Champagne house founded in 1976 by Belgian Paul-François Vranken. The house style places emphasis on freshness, bright fruit and elegance of the classic Champagne blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It was in 2003 that the house first released a cuveé in the distinctive cut-glass bottle inspired by Crystal Lalique. The symbol of French luxury has become a distinctive asset of the house. Vranken’s ultra-premium label is Diamant, also bottled in crystal-like glassware. It was introduced in the mid-2000s and is available in Brut, Rosé and vintage Blanc de Blancs editions. Earlier vintages from the house were released under the Paul Vranken label. Vranken purchased the Château des Castaignes on a site known as Les Demoiselles (“the damsels”), which gave rise to a new branding from 1985. Vranken now owns 270 hectares (667 acres) of vineyards, featuring all the three major grape varieties and spread across multiple villages, principally in the Côte de Blancs and Montagne de Reims subregions. The house forms part of the Vranken Pommery group along with Pommery, Heidsieck & Co. Dry Monopole, plus other holdings in Provence and the Douro.
