Wine: Vourvoukeli Malagouzia White

Malagouzia is a high quality, full-bodied, aromatic varietal that was recently revived by Greek viticulturists. Virtually extinct until Professor of Oenology Vassilis Logothetis re-discovered it in Nafpaktia in 1970s. Now grown in Thrace, a blessed place, with an extensive history of grape growing, wine production, and wine trade, was mentioned even by Homer. This region is one of the smallest in Greece, that shares a border with Bulgaria.
