The long winemaking tradition of the Franković family has remained a constant for generations, stronger than attachment to the place, so even Josip Franković’s love-motivated journey from central Istria to Buje did not threaten the love for the vine and passion for wine production instilled by his father. Moreover, the new place of life and the selection of land in the carefully chosen, unusually fertile location of Santa Lucia with a winning combination of limestone and clay, was the basis of a new wine story with old roots and stem, through which flows the experience of informal wisdom, formal agronomic education and the practice of leading large wine plants.
