For the making of its “Rich” creation, Veuve Clicquot uses 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 15% Chardonnay grapes. Distillery Information

Founded in 1772 by Philippe Cliquot from a wealthy banking family, his son François married Barbe Nicole Ponsardin. Sadly she was widowed at just 27 so took over the stewardship of the champagne company, something she proved very good at.
