Sake: TYKU Coconut Infused Nigori

This Nigori is made from Junmai sake and imported from Nara, Japan. Produced at the famed Umenoyado Brewery by world renowned Toji (Master Brewer) Hiroji Kitaba. Known as “Cloudy Sake,” the secret to Nigori sake’s lusciously sweet flavor is the small amount of rice purposefully unfiltered to leave behind a rich, creamy taste. TYKU Coconut Sake can be enjoyed chilled like a fine wine or in a delicious cocktail. Not just for sushi, TYKU Coconut Sake pairs well with desserts and counterbalances the heat of spicy foods.

Detailed Description

A modern take on a tried and tested Japanese classic, the Ty Ku Coconut Nigori Infusion takes the rich and creamy flavors of nigori and enhances it with the savory taste of coconut for a truly irresistible treat that can be enjoyed both on its own and as part of a cocktail. A junmai grade sake made from Akebono rice, each batch of this sake begins with the polishing of the rice to a seimaibuai of 70%. After polishing the rice is washed, steeped in pure water, and steamed before being fermented using their proprietary handmade koji. The fermented rice is then infused with natural flavors of coconut before being filtered with a broad mesh allowing for small traces of rice to permeate the drink and create its distinctive cloudy appearance.

TYKU Coconut Infused Nigori Sake Tasting Notes

Nose: An enticing nose of coconut meat and faint whiffs of vanilla.

Palate: This is then immediately followed by a sweet and silky palate of more coconut and vanilla notes.

Finish: An equally smooth and satisfying finish.
