The first spirit released from the Teeling Whiskey Distillery in Dublin is this superb Poitín – Teeling’s take on this infamous and once-illegal traditional Irish spirit. Distilled in copper pot stills, the first batch was made with 50% unmalted barley and 50% malted barley. Teeling recommend trying this poitín over ice with some good quality tonic and an orange peel garnish.
Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.
Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.
Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.
