Spirit Works gin which has been distilled from organic California red winter wheat. After resting for several months in new American white oak barrels, the result is a smooth, toasty aged spirit with a round, slightly sweet mouth-feel and subtle spice.
Nose: The nose is wonderful orange zest, (they zest by hand) juniper, evergreen, Meyer lemon, and some spice up front. After sitting, aromas of tarragon come through.
Palate: The palate has a nice rich, broad texture with lemon, orange marmalade and lite spice.
Finish: The finish is where the barrel comes in bringing a little vanilla and barrel spice.
Spirit Works Distillery is a microdistillery that handcrafts gin, sloe gin, vodka, and whiskey in Sebastopol, California. Founded by Ashby and Timo Marshall who spent over a decade working with environmental non-profits, Spirit Works is committed to the “grain to glass” philosophy. Each batch starts with whole grains of organic, California-grown Red Winter wheat.
