There are plenty of tales about smuggling in the world of drinks. Historically, in times of Prohibition, smugglers kept the (illicit) alcohol pouring and were often pursued and persecuted for this. Distilled in Scotland to Smuggler’s Spirits’ secret recipe, this is a classic dry gin, which pays tribute to the memory of some of Edinburgh’s smuggling history.

Located on Edinburgh’s famous Princes Street, Cask Smugglers opened its doors in 2018; a cocktail bar that’s hidden in plain sight on one of Edinburgh’s busiest streets. From classic cocktails and concoctions to one off pop-up events featuring bespoke cocktails, the team at Cask Smugglers know their spirits. The bar takes the ethos of the old speakeasy but once in the door the atmosphere is relaxed, fun and there’s a plentiful supply of good drinks. With a team of experienced bartenders and mixologists, the bar provides a wide range of gins, whiskies, rums, craft spirits and beers for patrons to enjoy. Launched in 2020, Smugglers Spirits was created as part of the bar’s ambition to launch a series of carefully crafted, signature spirits that were created to excite the palate and senses.
