Sake aficionado Île Four has forayed into the world of shochu! This it The Distiller 001, distilled from Ginjo sake lees (also known as pomace). Boasting some delicate floral notes at 20% ABV, it’s a perfect after dinner sipper. Oh, also, there’s some sort of robot on the label. Apparently its name is The Distiller, and it makes the shochu. Which is very kind of it.
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: Lingering finish.
