Real de Oaxaca Mezcal is produced using traditional methods that have been handed down by the family that has been making it for generations. Mezcal is a mystical elixir, but its production is not magic but involves a lot of effort for a community. Real de Oaxaca respect and believe in the traditional ways to create what has been called “elixir of the Gods”. Their artisans in the villages of Oaxaca still use the same traditional method of roasting agave in underground wood-fired pits, and distilling in small-batch, copper pot stills. Mezcal Silver Real De Oaxaca Also known as Blanco, Joven or Plata, this mezcal is the initial fresh distillate and offers the best pure expression of the agave plant. Silver Mezcal is artisan-made in small batches in Santiago Matatlan Oaxaca. Real de Oaxaca Silver is a perfect balance of espadín agave flavors and light smoke. The result is a mezcal that is Real to its cultural heritage.
Nose: Subtle floral, smokey nose showing a little sweetness.
Palate: There is a thickness tension playing off the minerally character making the experience both complex and pleasant.
Finish: The finish is very appealing as the peachy sweetness carries with the minerality.
