Detailed Description
It is often remarked in Champagne that a House’s quality should be judged by its non-vintage and this is a doctrine to which Pol Roger are firm adherents. The blending of this cuv√©e, the ‚ÄúWhite Foil‚Äù is a source of particular pride and is a complex task taken on by a select circle. The grapes for the cuv√©e sourced from top quality vineyards in Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir), Vall√©e de la Marne and Petite Vall√© d‚ÄôEpernay (Pinot Meunier) and the C√¥te des Blancs (Chardonnay). Pol Roger ‚ÄúWhite Foil‚Äù is traditionally a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir (lending body and depth) Pinot Meunier (for freshness and vigorous fruit) and Chardonnay (providing elegance and finesse) and is sourced exclusively from top villages, including premier cru and grand cru villages including Verzy, Ambonnay, Oger and Vertus. Thirty to 35 base wines are combined to make the blend, drawing from different parcels, grape varieties and vintage.

Palate: On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, impressively layered and complete, with a crisp but fleshy core of fruit, a youthfully frothy mousse and bright acids, concluding with a delicately chalky finish.
Finish: A dry, harmonious finish.
Distillery Information
Founded in 1849, Pol Roger is one of only a few Grande Marque Champagne houses that remains family owned and operated. Having among the deepest (100 feet below ground) and coolest (48°F) cellars in Champagne provide perfect conditions for the “prise de mousse” (the development of the Champagne in bottle and the “finesse” of the “bead” or bubble) and for the long-ageing of the Champagne in bottle. All of their Champagnes are aged longer than the legal requirement to add more complexity and fine bubbles in every bottle.
