Detailed Description
Master distiller/blender, Daniel Farber employs a single, 100-gallon antique Charentais still that he imported directly from Cognac, France after studying there for several years. Osocalis uses traditional Cognac techniques to make their Rare Alambic Brandy while taking advantage of California’s unique terroir. The “Rare Alambic Brandy” is comprised of mostly of Pinot Noir, Semillon and Colombard with the bulk of the eau de vies clocking in at around 6 years of age with some older stock to give depth.

Distillery Information
Osocalis is a small, artisanal distillery in Soquel, California. The name Osocalis is the original Native American name for Soquel, today part of the greater Santa Cruz area. We use a small antique alambic Charentais still, imported from Cognac, to produce brandies using grapes and apples from the cooler coastal regions of California. We strive to produce products that have the length, elegance and finesse of Old World brandies, such as Cognac and Calvados, but with the fruit intensity and structure of California wines.
