An unaged akevitt from Oslo Håndverksdestilleri. Though the Norway-based distillery already features a cask aged akevitt among their range, this isn’t simply the same spirit bottled before maturation. They’ve created a new expression around nine specially selection botanicals, with a particular emphasis on juniper, alongside the traditional core of caraway plus angelica root, calamus root, chamomile flower, meadowsweet, heather flower, sorrel and St. John’s wort. The reasoning behind this was to create a spirit with cocktails in mind – the inclusion of juniper allows to you swap out the gin from a cocktail for Oslo Håndverksdestilleri’s Akevitt Blank, giving the tipple a traditional Norwegian twist. not only delicious, but it’ll give you a chance to flex your knowledge of the Norwegian language to name said cocktail. Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: Clean,crisp and smooth.
