With a flavor reminiscent of apple cider, the drink is aged in oak casks and distilled from cider made from apples grown in Normandy. In a typical glass, one may find notes of apples, cinnamon, caramel, and citrus, which is said to be the result of the apple tree growing in the region. The drink is usually served at room temperature and often garnished with a slice of orange. Michel Huard Hors d’Age Calvados is an apple brandy distilled from apples grown in Normandy. With a taste reminiscent of apple cider, this drink is aged in oak casks and is best served at room temperature.
