The Tequilas de la Do√±a range of Elixirs de Agave, are now available for the first time in Australia. Don Alberto Becherano established Tequilas de la Do√±a in 1997 as part of a lifelong passion for the Blue Agave plant. Nestled high in Los Altos de Jalisco, home of the Blue Agave plant, the Tequilas de la Do√±a team painstakingly handcrafts 100% Blue Agave Tequila in small batches to ensure superior quality. (By law ‘tequilas’ can be produced from only 51% Agave with 49% sugar cane added as a substitute, compromising the quality of the drinking experience.) Don Alberto is a Maestro Tequilero (Master Tequila Blender) with years of experience and oversees the entire production process ‚Äì Agave plant selection, cooking, milling, fermentation, distillation, ageing and bottling.Tequilas de la Do√±a takes great pride in their all ‚Äúnatural‚Äù production methods. They will never use artificial colours (wood essence), flavours or stabilisers (chemicals) to standardise the flavour, bouquet or colour of their finished products. Don Alberto created Elixir de Agave using the same plant and traditional processes for making tequila, but he demands much higher quality standards. These include the use of 100% Blue Agaves, with Agave juices fermented with naturally occurring yeasts, in stainless steel tanks for 3-4 days. This longer fermentation results in a more robust body. The result is completely natural and a truly luxurious experience for all to savour.
