The name is a tribute to the Don Mateo, the legendary leader of the Tequila Rebellion in the 19th century.The clear liquid is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years.Don Mateo de la Sierra Silvestre Mezcal is made from the highest quality agave, which is distilled in copper pot stills. The clear liquid is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years. This mezcal has an intense aroma and a smoky, peppery flavor.
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in taste.
