De Luze V.S.O.P. is a Fine Champagne Cognac blended from eaux-de-vie made from grapes grown at Domaine Boinaud and distilled on the lees at the Boinaud family’s own distillery which boasts 41 pot-stills. It is a blend of eaux de vie from Grande Champagne (minimum 50 per cent) and Petite Champagne, aged at least 12 years with some spirit dating from 1989.
De Luze Fine Champagne Cognac VSOP Tasting Notes
Nose: Clear, coppery golden with bright bronze highlights.
Palate: Dried plump apricot halves, pear skin, candied fruit and rose petals with fresh green grapes, caramel, light cinnamon spice and faint rubbed spearmint leaves.
Finish: Slightly sweet, wonderfully fruity (apricots, prunes and ripe pear) with balancing spicy oak, gingernut biscuit and cinnamon spice.
Distillery Information
A cognac brand established by Bordeaux negociants A de Luze et Fils in 1820. In 2006, De Luze was acquired by the Boinaud Family, vineyard owners with an 410 ha in Grande Champagne and owners of cognac’s largest private distillery, boasting 41 pot-stills.
