Situated in the Yamaguchi Prefecture, at the western tip of Honshu, Dassai is a premium brand of sake owned by Asahi Shuzo. Dassai Umeshu is their authentic, limited-release plum drink, made from the highest quality plums grown in Nanko, Wakayama Prefecture.
Nose: Satisfying and charming aromas.
Palate: A rich, complex, and smooth taste.
Finish: Long, warming finish.
“Dassai” comes from the name “Otter Festival” which was popularised in the Yamaguchi Prefecture where Dassai’s brewery, Asahi Shuzo, is based in, as there was many otters frolicking in the nearby rivers and would often lay out the fish they caught as if to showcase them in a festival
