Detailed Description
We’ve taken an adventure away from the whisky path for this addition to our own indie bottling collection with a trip to Cognac! This expression hails from Brugerolle and rested for 19 years in a French oak barrel.
Cognac Brugerolle 19 Year Old 1993 (Private Label) | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Hearty oak, cooked apples, and vinous pressed grapes, with vanilla cream joined by flakes of buttery pastry.
Palate: A silky soft, velvety start, with heaps of cooked orchard fruit – apples, plums, and pears. Oak spice builds with enjoyable prickles of warmth.
Finish: A dry finish as the fruits tail off. Whispers of butterscotch, vanilla, and burnt sugar rest beneath, shrouded in leathery oak and woody, tannic spice.
Distillery Information
With a history dating back to the late 1700s, the small family brand of Brugerolle Cognac has been protected by becoming part of the Compagnie de Guyenne (CDG), created by Cognac Meukow in 1969. Brugerolle Cognac was incorporated into the CDG in 1987, allowing their cognacs to continue to be produced in the traditional manner and sold under the Brugerolle label.
