Detailed Description
A brilliant, experimental Port from Cockburn’s, this one is called Ruby Soho, and as such is a ruby Port… inspired by Soho. It’s jammy and fruity, and is delicious in a Port & Lemon, made with soda, lemon juice, and sugar syrup – though if you wanted to enjoy it neat, it’s a top pairing with either cheese or chocolate.
Cockburn’s Ruby Soho Port Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright aromas of blackberry fruit and toffee complement
succulent red and black fruit flavours.
Palate: Great freshness
and balance are topped off with moments of explosive
peppery spice.
Finish: Long and bright finish.
Distillery Information
Cockburn’s has always questioned the so-called ‘rules’ for making port. Back in 1815, Robert and John Cockburn, two brothers from Scotland, bypassed the stuffy merchant’s fair in Porto and bought the very best grapes directly from farmers upriver in the Douro. The look on their faces…We’ve done things our way, declaring vintage years whenever we feel it’s right, regardless of what rival port houses might think.
