Camus XO Cognac

$211.00

Cognac is a type of brandy produced in the Cognac region of France.
Because the French take it very seriously, there are numerous rules cognac makers have to follow not to fall “short” into the brandy category.

The white wine from the specific grapes (Ugni blanc) has to be doubly distilled in a copper pot still before being aged for at least two years in oak casks from which the wood can only come from two specific forests in France (Limousin or Tronçais).

About Camus
In the early 1800s, winegrower Jean Baptiste Camus began selling his harvests to larger cognac houses. In 1863, Camus gathered different cognac producers to found La Grande Marque cognac. When it took off, he bought out his partners and established his own cognac house. At some point, Camus Cognac even became the official cognac of the Tsar of Russia. Still entirely family-run, The Camus Cognac house and their Plessis family estate are located in the heart of the Borderies region – the smallest terroir in the Cognac region. Helmed by Jean Paul Camus who realized the potential of the Borderies cru before it became extremely sought-after, Camus Cognacs are adored for their rich, complex and velvety character.
