A bottle of Boulard’s Extra Calvados. This expression was certainly not rushed, it took seven years of selection and blending by the Cellar Master before they were happy to release it. This is a rich, fruity Calvados with a long finish.

Boulard Extra Calvados Brandy Tasting Notes

Nose: A sense of lightness from the fruity flavours, backed with floral notes.

Palate: A full but sweet opening Explosion of intense, fruity flavour, Vanilla and sweet almonds.

Finish: Great length of flavour and an aromatic finish.

Distillery Information

The family-run Calvados Boulard distillery at Coquainvilliers, in the rural heart of the département, may currently export 85 per cent of the world’s output, but it couldn’t feel less like mass-production. It’s sited on a secluded lane in a timber-framed house with an adjacent red-brick, slate-roofed barn which houses the distillery.
