Detailed Description
A beautifully blended whisky from Batch Innovations, released to celebrate its tenth anniversary! This eye-catching bottle has been hand decorated by the brand’s resident artist Bodie, and contains a warming whisky, with plenty of sweet sherry, subtle spice, and delicate smoke character. Finished off with a copper label and seal, hand branded cork, and smart wooden case, this is a pretty snazzy release indeed.
Batch Innovations Burnt Malt Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Softly spiced currant buns, crisp apple, and biscuity malt.
Palate: Sherried fruits open things up, with liquorice, cinnamon, and a touch of ginger. Sweet caramel balances charred oak and delicate peat smoke.
Finish: Vanilla brings a fudgy sweetness whilst more orchard fruits and smoky embers linger.
Distillery Information
The family-run Batch Spirits was founded by Phil Whitewell in 2012 in the basement of a house in Lancashire, receiving its distiller’s license after previously producing craft beers. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that they expanded, although this expansion was only to a second basement. Nonetheless, this meant that Batch Signature Gin was being regularly produced in the evenings, as the team still all had full time jobs. That same year Batch Spirits won a silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition. By 2016 the brand had truly outgrown basement life, and moved to a site in Habergham Mill in Burnley, complete with a brand new larger still called Adrian. Later that year, with the new space they had acquired, they were able to experiment and expand the range, with flavoured gin and a vodka. Since then, the brand has only acquired more medals and added more expressions to the range.
