Ahead of Ardbeg Day 2021, the Scotch whisky maker has created Scorch, which has been matured in heavily charred ex-Bourbon American oak casks.
Nose: Soot and smoke, as well as aniseed and patchouli.
Palate: Oily mouthfeel and flavors of sweet smoke, grilled fare, black liquorice
and medicinal lozenge.
Finish: Long, with a tarry aftertaste.
Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides group of islands. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky.
