Detailed Description
Balcones Rumble Cask Reserve is a uniquely Texas spirits made entirely from Texas ingredients: wildflower honey, mission figs, turbinado sugar and natural Texas Hill Country spring water. Together, the ingredients are fermented and distilled before being matured to perfection in small, oak barrels. Following maturation, Balcones Rumble is bottled unfiltered and at barrel proof. The spirit has a rich aroma of honey, caramel apples, citrus and old leather that gives way to notes of toasted rye, burnt sugar and lush cognac on the palate. The finish is lingering and full, with touches of melon, honeydew and crème brulée. As a result of its unique ingredients, Balcones Rumble has flavors that are similar to Scotch whisky, cognac and rum. Balcones Rumble Cask Reserve earned the Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and won the Good Food Awards Medal in 2012.

Distillery Information
A quarter mile from downtown Waco, Texas, in a neighborhood of long abandoned storefronts, is a small, rusted-metal shed hidden beneath the 17th Street Bridge. The one-time welding shop sits in between the overpass’ enormous support pillars, next to a white trailer. It’s a safe bet none of the drivers know they’re speeding over the worldwide headquarters of Balcones Distilling, the maker of the finest new whiskey in America.
