Description
Detailed Description
A superbly balanced Rivesaltes that has retained its traditional rancio and prune aromas and spicy notes. A delightful way to finish a meal or to accompany spicy foods or chocolate desserts.
Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: The 1955 Rivesaltes from Philippe Gayral’s new find, Domaine La Sobilane, has a slightly more conservative bouquet compared to other vintages, touches of marzipan and crème brûlée infusing the walnut and hazelnut aromas. The palate is viscous on the entry, honeyed in texture, very cohesive with chocolate, walnut and vanilla extract on the seductive finish. This is very fine.
Producer Information
The Domaine de la Sobilane knows its hours of glory thanks to its old vintages dating from the end of the Second World War. The property is located in Perpignan and today belongs to Mauricette Daniel. Located in the heart of Roussillon, the estate produces natural sweet wines of excellence, particularly in the Rivesaltes appellation.
