Producer Information
Château Loubens boasts an ancient history, dating back to the sixteenth century, when it was part of the ownership of a Bordeaux parliamentarian Pierre de Spens de Lancre Le Piens. In 1620 Louis XIII stopped in this manor for one night, after a day of hunting. In the 19th century it passed to the Sèze family who transformed the castle and began to produce wine. The winery built in fossil rock, 70 meters deep, is a spectacular underground cathedral. The castle is located on the northern bank of the Garonne River, where the small denomination of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont was born.
