La Grande Dame Rosé 2012 Champagne from Veuve Clicquot is 90% pinot noir, coming mainly from the historic Grand Crus of the terroir. The rest of the blend is 10% chardonnay (Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger). On the nose, you’ll find floral notes, evolving towards warmer, more spicy notes, the company reports. The palate is red fruits (gooseberry, cherry, cranberry) bread, brioche, spices and coffee and smoky notes.
Nose: Impressive depth on the nose.
Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.
Finish: The finish is unique and complex.
