Detailed Description
Caffo’s Grappa Italiana is an elegant and inviting introduction to a category of spirit notorious for its often brutish intensity. Enjoy on its own or mixed into cocktails in need of dry fruit notes.
Caffo Italiana Grappa Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose is reminiscent of an unaged Armagnac or pisco with high floral notes and aromas of Bosc pear.
Palate: The palate is soft and silky, showing plenty of pear, underripe tropical fruit, toasted rice, and fresh cream.
Finish: Great elegance and length on the finish.
Distillery Information
The history of the Caffo’s family business dates back to the end of the nineteenth century, when Giuseppe Caffo began distilling pomace on the side of volcanic Mount Etna. After years of experience managing distilleries, he bought an old distillery in Santa Venerina, Sicily, in 1915.
