Brands such as Monte Real and Artacho are established in the early 20th Century, the former by French winemaker Gabriel Larrendat who worked at the winery for several years until returning to France in 1933.The winery continued production through the era of Francisco Franco’s dictatorship (which ends in 1975) and by the 1980s, investment in production and storage at the winery is increased. The company is partially listed on the stock exchange in 1997.
