Coming from the village of Castelnuovo Don Bosco (in between Turin and Asti) Berto was purchased in 1906 by Carlo Quaglia and is now on to its 4th generation. The original recipe for Berto Vermouth dates back to the 1930’s and was later rediscovered by Chef Federico Ricatto who’s nephew Alberto ( nicknamed Bèrto) gave his name to the modern incarnation of their label. Both the base wine and herbs/ spices added are certified organic and no sulphites are added whatsoever.
