Tattoo tequila is a brand of premium, organic tequilas offered in stark black bottles and aimed at the brass-knuckle crowd… we presume this from the skull on the bottle, the tattoo culture surrounding it, and their sponsorship of the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis motorcycle festival. The blanco expression is bottled un-aged, generally considered a purer expression of agave.
Nose: Fresh agave with floral and fruit notes.
Palate: As gimmicky as this is, it’s pretty solid tequila. It’s smooth and citrusy, with fresh agave flavors. Black pepper, chili and nutmeg give it some spicy appeal and a little heat to match that skull imagery.
Finish: Finishes bright, with a subtle floral note.
