Launched as their take on the quintessential aged mezcal, the Scorpion Mezcal Anejo Tequila 1 Year is made exclusively from 100% Espadin agave which are slowly cooked in traditional ovens before being shredded to extract as much of their juice as possible. These juices are then fermented before being twice-distilled with the resulting spirit then being aged in small oak barrels, developing its flavors for a full year before finally being brought to proof and bottled.
Nose: Very smoky and more understated than the others, like a tin of just opened tobacco.
Palate: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, with lime, leather, oil, smoke, and a hint of mint.
Finish: A long and toasty finish of tobacco and spice.
