Detailed Description

This premium white rum was established as the principle rum brand of St. Lucia Distillers (a merger of the last two distilleries on the island, the Dennery Distillery and Roseau Bay Distillery) in 1972. The 100% Coffey still rum was crafted using a blend of double distilled rums from Guyanese molasses before it was aged for 2 years in ex-Bourbon casks and filtered after blending to remove colour. It is by far the number one selling rum in St. Lucia, but it was previously never exported off the island. You’d better see what all the fuss is about…

Bounty Premium White Saint Lucia Rum Tasting Notes

Nose: Clean with fresh tropical citrus on the nose.

Palate: The opening on the palate offers some sweetness, which gives way to a mellow citrus character on the finish.

Finish: Refreshing and lingering.

Distillery Information

St Lucia Distillers was founded in 1972, and is based in the valley of Roseau on the island of St Lucia. In the 1950s, only two distilleries remained on the island, Dennery on the Barnard family plantation, and the Geest-owned facility at Roseau. These two distilleries combined to form St. Lucia Distillers Group at the location of Roseau in 1972, and it is now the island’s only remaining distillery. The Barnard family then bought out the Geest’s shares in 1992, and in 2005 they sold their shareholdings to Clico Barbados Holdings, though Laurie Barnard stayed on as Managing Director. In May 2007 the distillery suffered an arson attack, which destroyed the laboratory and blending building, and the brand was forced to work from a converted warehouse for years after.
