Detailed Description
The rise of such good quality Vermouth from various Sherry producers makes us incredibly excited! The Ataman is a new release with a historical past. Bodegas Barbadillo made some incredible Vermuts from the 1940s-1960s and after that point basically closed the doors and left their remaining stock to age quietly as the aromatized wines fell out of fashion. Fast forward to present day where we have a core of Manzanilla sherry enriched with a portion of that 50+ year old stock, and macerated with botanicals like wormwood, rosemary, and bitter Seville orange peel. There is a depth and character here that most other styles can’t obtain. Deep, savory, layered, uncious yet precise. A touch of welcome bitterness on the finish takes away from anything too cloying. A sipping Vermut, to enjoy over a couple cubes of ice and perhaps even as a pre-dinner aperitif to stimulate your appetite.
