Batavia arrack is a rum-like spirit from Java, Indonenia made with sugarcane molasses. A key difference is that a small amount of local red rice is used during fermentation. This bottling by By The Dutch was then matured in oak casks for up to 8 years. Traditionally Batavia arrack is used in punches and confectionery, but we see this best used in cocktails.
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.
Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.
