This gloriously well-matured whisky right here is a 40 year old Caol Ila single malt, which has been independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of its very appropriately-named Xtra Old Particular series. This one began life back in June 1979 and was left to age in a refill hogshead for four decades, before said cask was cracked open in November 2019. Just 232 bottles of this incredible Islay single malt were produced.
Nose: Delightful aroma.
Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.
Finish: Rich and smooth.
