This 2017 Plum Eau de Vie from Capreolus is predominantly produced using Victoria plums, first introduced in the 1840s, alongside other traditional plum varieties including Gages, Reeve’s Seedling and Opal. The stones are removed just before distillation, so some of their complex nutty flavour still peeks through. Only 341 bottles were produced.
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: Rich and smooth.
