Vago Pechuga by Joel Barriga Mezcal Artesanal is a hand-crafted, artisanal mezcal made with 100% Espadin agave. It is produced in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico and is made using traditional methods. The agave is cooked in an underground earthen oven for three days, then it is crushed with a horse-drawn tahona wheel and fermented in open wooden vats. The distillation is done in copper stills with an additional distillation using a traditional pechuga method, with the addition of wild fruits and nuts. This mezcal has a light, smoky flavor with notes of citrus, spice, and herbal sweetness. It is perfect for sipping neat or adding to cocktails.
