Detailed Description
Distinctly Marlborough, Wither Hills Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc is refined and elegant. Mouth-watering, textural acidity and a juicy core of citrus fruit exudes notes of crunchy greens and tropical guava on the nose.
Producer Information
Wither Hills is a Marlborough wine producer of New Zealand’s South Island. It produces a range of wines from common regional varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and – most significantly – Sauvignon Blanc. The Core Range is is a fruit-forward collection of varietal wines, designed to be affordable and approachable in their youth. In contrast, the Cellar Collection is the boutique wine range headed by The Honourable, a premium-quality Pinot Noir which is only produced in selected vintages. Whither Hills also produce a low alcohol range that includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and a Rosé. Wither Hills source grapes from both the Marlborough and the Hawke’s Bay wine regions. Three select vineyards in the Marlborough region are used to produce the Single Vineyard collection of varietal Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Here, sea breezes keep temperatures cool and moderate and a long growing season allows for grapes to ripen to their full potential. Wither Hills is now owned by the Australasian beverage company Lion.
