Detailed Description

Well, here’s something we’ve never seen before – this Dutch spirit from Clusius is produced from tulip bulbs! Apparently it’s a world first. Each bottle contains at least 350 Dutch tulip bulbs, and it’s made in very small batches with absolutely no sugar or flavourings added. As you’d expect, it’s pretty floral, though with hints of dried fruits and subtly mineral flavours, too.

Nose: Incredibly aromatic, with soft and subtle spices accompanied by faint chocolatey notes. Behind all that are floral layers of dried lavender.

Palate: The palate is lightly spiced, with lots of greener notes, subtle grains and whispers of black licorice.

Finish: Long and smooth finish.

Clusius Craft distillers is a privately held craft distillery. Named after the world-famous Dutch botanist Carolus Clusius, who led the tulip’s introduction in the Netherlands.
