Detailed Description
Apparently rum comes in colours. Perhaps most things do. The colour of magic, according to Terry Pratchett at least, is called Octarine. Which, incidentally, is a great name for a band. Naturally, there was actually a UK group called exactly that – they had a couple of trance hits in the ’90s, the very decade in which this tasty rum was distilled. Bringing this bit of text back around to relevance. Sort of.
Distillery Information
Bellevue distillery is in the heart of the largest sugarcane plantation of Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe. The Bellevue au Moule estate and its distillery were established at the end of the 19th century, and the iconic windmill was built in 1821. In 1942, the estate was acquired by Roger Damoisea Sr, and is now still owned by his grandsons. Bellevue distillery is also the first Caribbean distillery to have committed to protecting the environment, with a 100% non-polluting production process.
