Description
Detailed Description
Part of Del Maguey’s Vino de Mezcal series, this is produced from wild maguey Arroqueño roasted over hot rocks, buried for 3 days and then fermented for a month using nothing more than microbes in the air. Double distilled very slowly, it produces a vegetal and savoury style of Mezcal.
Del Maguey Arroqueno Mezcal Tasting Notes
Nose: The aromas are dominated by roasted corn, black pepper, salt, dried chilies, fresh-cut foliage and subtle baking spices, specifically Ceylon cinnamon.
Palate: Mouthwatering on the palate, the mezcal is extremely high-toned, dominated by Kaffir lime and other citrus, cedar, and fresh-cut agave blades.
Finish: A brilliantly seductive mezcal with rich body and a long deep finish.
Distillery Information
Del Maguey (pronounced ma–gay) Single Village Mezcal was founded in 1995, and they’ve been one of the most innovative and trail-blazing international spirits brands since. Their founder, Ron Cooper, is largely credited for the current growing popularity of Mezcal on the international market. His dedication to Mezcal and the country of Mexico, where Del Maguey is produced, has helped to dispel many of the worm-in-bottle and other negative stereotypes that surrounded Mezcal for years.
