XO Calvados from the Boulard folks! This is made with apple-based spirits from Pays d’Auge which have matured in oak for 6 to 15 years. An excellent expression, jam packed with creamy apple, rich vanilla and hints of sugared almonds.

Boulard Calvados XO Brandy Tasting Notes

Nose: Harmonious apple and vanilla, with elegant hints of oak.

Palate: Very smooth and followed by a hint of ripe apple, spices and nuts.

Finish: Spicy with an exceptional persistence.

Distillery Information

The family-run Calvados Boulard distillery at Coquainvilliers, in the rural heart of the département, may currently export 85 per cent of the world’s output, but it couldn’t feel less like mass-production. It’s sited on a secluded lane in a timber-framed house with an adjacent red-brick, slate-roofed barn which houses the distillery.
