The ingredient central to rum – sugarcane – had been cultivated in their home state since the 1700s, but no one had yet harnessed this abundant natural resource to create a top-notch, premium rum.
Bayou Select Barrel Reserve Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy vanilla with hints of apple and cinnamon.
Palate: Dry with long-lasting notes of dark fruit and wood.
Finish: Long, warming finish.
Distillery Information
As rum enthusiasts, brothers Trey and Tim Litel, and long-time friend Skip Cortese were drawn to creating the spirit. They realized very little rum was produced domestically. It seemed like a great op- portunity as sugar cane, the primary ingredient is plentiful here.
